Introduction to Reflexology - Massage Therapy 8 CE Course
Instructor: Stephanie Grace
Live continuing education course for massage therapists - 8 CEs - $200
Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands relative to every organ, system, and body part. The goals of reflexology are to re-educate, re-pattern, and recondition the nerves through the neural/electrical system of the body. Through the application of thumb and finger walking techniques, the nerve pathways are stimulated, thus restoring homeostasis. Students will gain much hands-on experience, learning applied pressure techniques. Students will learn the history of reflexology. Detailed foot and hand charts will be given to the student. A certificate of completion is received for 8 hours of in-person instruction.
By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Define reflexology.
List the functions and organs of the following body systems: skeletal, muscular, endocrine, urinary, digestive, reproductive, respiratory, immune, lymphatic, and nervous.
Examine the foot and document findings, following the supplied chart and assessment form.
Locate and label reflex areas on all 4 surfaces of the feet - plantar, dorsal, medial and lateral.
Perform a reflexology session using various techniques.
This course will be taught using lecture, notes, discussion, and hands-on demonstration of skills.
This is a pass/fail course. It is, therefore, not graded. The course completion requirements are full attendance and satisfactory demonstration of hands-on technique.
Professional conduct and attire are expected at all times. Cell phones MUST be turned OFF during class. Students will be expected to:
