Hydromassage or dry hydrotherapy is the ultimate therapeutic treatment for back pain and stress, offering users the benefits of massage and deep relaxation. Hydromassage feels like the "hands on" massage of an expert massage therapist.
Hydromassage combines the healing powers of water, heat and massage into one powerful therapeutic experience! This treatment uses pulsating waves of heated water to target areas. The unique benefit of hydromassage provides the therapies of whirlpool, heat, and massage into a single system without the inconvenience of messy oils/creams, undressing, or getting wet.
Hydromassage offers many of the same benefits of traditional massage therapy, with the added bonus of water. Benefits include:
Relaxation and improved mood
Relief of minor aches and pains
Reduction of stress and anxiety
Improved circulation and healing
Relief for fibromyalgia or arthritic patients
Relief of muscle soreness, stiffness and tension
At Mettā, we offer dry hydromassage in 30 minute sessions, which uses a table similar to that used in traditional massage therapy. In many ways, dry hydromassage works along the same principles as standard hydrotherapy. In essence, high-pressure jets of warm water work to relax the muscles, decrease pain, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. The main difference with dry hydrotherapy, as the name implies, is that there is a barrier between the jets of water and the body.
A dry hydromassage table has a flexible waterproof lining underneath the tabletop. This keeps the guest dry, yet still will provide the benefits of high-pressure jets. Guests will only need to remove their shoes before undergoing a dry hydromassage treatment session. Comfortable clothes is recommended. The intensity of the jet pressure can be adjusted to customize the session for each client. It can range from gentle to a more aggressive, deep tissue experience.
Increase the benefits with frequent visits A hydromassage session can do you a world of good. Receiving hydromassage frequently can do even more. Taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you'll be and how youthful you'll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for self-care at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. And remember, just because hydromassage feels like a pampering treat doesn't mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider hydromassage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs.
